Advancing Data-Driven Deep Coupling of Computational Simulations and Experiments

Description

This program aims to bring together highly motivated undergraduate students from across the nation and provide them with opportunities to participate in various research projects on the multidisciplinary theme of developing data-driven scientific workflows. The research activities are designed to solve a unique scientific problem using data-driven approaches. The scientific application drivers are intelligent monitoring of health bio-markers, detection of cardiovascular diseases, modeling of turbulent flows in large wind farms, droplet ejection simulation in inkjet technology, microfluidic cancer cell detection in liquid biopsy, etc. The research demonstrates the ability of data-driven deep coupling of simulation and experiments. It serves as a model for adopting emerging computer software and hardware for the high-performance analysis of massive amounts of scientific data from various domains.
