The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Scholars Program offers stipend-paid internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate-level university students pursuing STEM degrees, as well as upper-level high school students.
The selected interns gain valuable hands-on experiences working with full-time AFRL scientists and engineers on cutting-edge research and technology and are able to contribute to unique, research-based projects.
AFRL Scholar Internships and Research Assistant positions are offered at this site. AFRL Scholar internships are typically 10–12 weeks, with a minimum requirement of 8 weeks. Extensions up to 14 weeks can be approved based on mentor need and funding availability.
The Research Assistantship (RA) position is for AFRL Scholars enrolled as an upper undergraduate, a master’s-seeking or doctoral student. Research Assistantships will be conducted under the tutelage of a seasoned mentor and will be renewable annually. Research Assistants will participate in more intensive and advanced research, in collaboration with their AFRL Mentors, with the intention of securing long-term employment with AFRL at the conclusion of the assistantship.
