LOUIS STOKES ALLIANCE FOR MINORITY PARTICIPATION (LSAMP) Summer Research Internship Program

Description

  • 10‐week National Science Foundation (NSF) summer internship for undergraduates in STEM disciplines
  • Participation in oral and/or poster presentations at the national UB Undergraduate Research Conference
  • Research Methods Seminar
  • Weekly “essential skills” workshops
  • Participation in the UB School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) Summer Research Symposium 

Eligibility

  • Full-time undergraduates majoring in a STEM discipline with an interest in research
  • Completed a minimum of 30 credits before the start of the program
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.80 or better
  • LSAMP supports broadening participation from groups that have been historically underrepresented (African American, Latinx, American Indians, Native Pacific Islanders, etc.) in STEM disciplines
  • Graduating seniors are ineligible
  • Students in allied health fields (OT/PT, nursing, medicine, medical technology, pharmacy) are ineligible
