Description

Join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas State University and engage in a traditional research experience while exploring chemical career opportunities and developing professional skills to prepare for your post-graduate life. The CheMIE REU aims to prepare participants for graduate school, industry, entrepreneurship, and many other exciting career paths!


Students will participate in Career Development seminars with Texas State University’s Career Services team, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty, and local career chemists from various career paths. This unique combination of research and innovation training will provide students with a broad basis of understanding in both academic and industrial research that is lacking in most academic research environments.

Eligibility

  • The CheMIE REU is open to all Chemistry or Biochemistry majors who will have completed at least one year of general chemistry prior to beginning the REU program.
  • Students who are currently engaged in research are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to funding new researchers.
  • All participants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
