Description

The American Culinary Federation Monterey Bay Chapter Marc H. Vedrines Scholarship aims to support aspiring chefs and pastry chefs from the Tri-County Area (Monterey, Santa Cruz, or San Benito Counties) who demonstrate financial need and merit. This scholarship is designed to help students achieve their career goals in the culinary arts by providing financial assistance for their education. Recipients must enroll in a post-secondary college with a major in culinary or pastry arts, or in a culinary school, and use the funds by December 31st of the following year the scholarship is awarded. The scholarship values range from $1,000 to $2,500, and the application deadline is March 15, 2024.

Eligibility

  • A career goal of becoming a chef or pastry chef
  • Financial need and merit
  • Minimal GPA: 3.0
  • Resident of the Tri-County Area (Monterey, Santa Cruz, or San Benito Counties)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Volunteer activity
  • An Essay
  • Current and past employment

Recipients must enroll at a post-secondary college with a major in either culinary or pastry arts, or enroll in a culinary school. Funds must be used by December 31st of the following year the scholarship is awarded.
