Ann Fudge Scholarship

Description

Named for the first woman chair of The Executive Leadership Council and former chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam Brands, the Ann Fudge Scholarship is awarded to ambitious undergraduate Black female students who are enrolled in an accredited four-year college. This scholarship opportunity is open to rising sophomores and juniors.

Scholarship awardees will receive a two-year, need-based scholarship in the amount of $10,000 per year to assist with educational expenses for the upcoming academic year(s). The scholarship will be paid directly to the awardees’ college and will be disbursed in equal amounts for the fall and spring semesters. Scholars will be required to resubmit their transcripts and meet the GPA criteria at the end of the academic year to renew the award for the subsequent academic year(s), if applicable.

Eligibility

Each scholarship program has unique eligibility requirements that candidates must meet for consideration. To meet the general eligibility criteria for an ELC scholarship candidates must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen- Identify as Black, African American, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Latinx, or other African descent
  • Enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Not be a dependent of an ELC member Students who are currently enrolled in a community college or junior college and have been accepted to an accredited four-year college are eligible to apply for undergraduate scholarships. For more information about the scholarship eligibility please carefully review the eligibility criteria overview and the 2024 ELC Scholarship Program Submission Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarships- Essay: Applicants must submit well-written responses to all essay components for the Common App Essay Questions (6) and Corporate Essay Questions (2) as outlined per scholarship. (Note - Corporate Essay Questions may differ for each scholarship program.)- Academic Transcript: Applicants must submit an unofficial academic transcript reflecting current grades with their college/university, enrollment status, and field of study. Semi-finalist applicants will be required to submit an official transcript to be considered for the award. Affidavit: Applicants must agree to the terms of the scholarship program.- Recommendation Form: Applicants will submit the name and contact information for a professor, faculty, OR professional to complete a short electronic recommendation form. Supplemental Documents: Financial Aid Award Letter, Resume, Brief Biography (150 words), and Headshot Photo.
  • Honors Symposium Participation: Scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend the ELC Honors Symposium, a professional development series designed for ELC Scholars.
