Description

The Arizona College of Nursing Scholarship was established to support funding for minority students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the field of Nursing. Black/African American students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Awards:

Arizona College of Nursing NBNA Scholarship

Tuition scholarship of up to $10,000 for one (1) Arizona College of Nursing student from each Nursing campus (Tempe, AZ, Phoenix, AZ, Tucson, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Dallas, TX, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Tampa, FL, Salt Lake City, UT, Southfield, MI, Falls Church, VA, Sarasota, FL, and Ontario, CA)

Scholarship must be applied directly to their student account for use in future academic sessions at Arizona College of Nursing

Each Arizona College of Nursing campus (as listed above) is limited to one (1) awardee per calendar year

Only completed applications received by the deadline date (April 15, 2023) will be considered

Applications without an Official Transcript will not be reviewed/considered

Awardees will be selected by the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) and decisions will be based on the content provided in the applications and the review by NBNA Scholarship and Awards Committee.

Eligibility

  • Two Reference Letters (500 words) 
  • One from your local NBNA Chapter President/Vice President who can attest to your membership, involvement, and participation in chapter meetings, activities, and programs impacting the community 
  • One from your Dean or current faculty member attesting to your academic performance, enrollment, expected graduation, participation/involvement in activities, and future potential- Written Essay/Personal Statement 
  • 500 words or two (2) pages double spaced responding to the following statement: “An NBNA Scholarship will allow me to” (discuss career goals, area of focus, and how you will improve the health and social conditions of African Americans).
  • Demonstration of Community Service
  • Resume/CV
  • Official Transcript
  • Enrolled at Arizona College of Nursing during the January 2023 Semester with an expected graduation date of December 2023 or later
  • Letter from Registrar Verifying Enrollment and Expected Date of Graduation
  • Student Member of National Black Nurses Association
  • Completion of NBNA Scholarship Application (by deadline)
