The Carol and Jason Hendren First Generation Endowed Scholarship is designed to support first-generation undergraduate students enrolled at the university. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in at least nine credit hours, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be residents of Florida.

Preference is given first to students enrolled at the UCF Main Campus and secondly to those with demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities. The scholarship amount varies and is part of the First Generation Matching Grant program, with an application deadline of October 31, 2024.

As part of the application process, students are required to confirm their enrollment at the UCF Main Campus and submit a list or short essay detailing their involvement in extracurricular activities.

• Applicant must be enrolled at the university as an undergraduate student taking at least nine credit hours.
• Applicant must be a first-generation college student.
• Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
• Applicant must be a resident of the state of Florida.
