In tribute to the dedicated work of Curt Stern, the National Sunflower Association board of directors established a memorial scholarship in his name. Donations from the sunflower industry and friends of Curt Stern have allowed for that scholarship to be funded and opened for applicants. The fund will be administered by the ND Community Foundation and a committee consisting of NSA members. The fund will assist students who study in the field of agriculture with special emphasis on sunflower production, promotion, or research.

• The initial purpose of the fund is to financially assist students who are interested in the field of agriculture with special emphasis on sunflower production, promotion, or research.
• This scholarship is for students who are in their last two years of undergraduate studies or in graduate level studies and have maintained at least a cumulative 3.0 gpa on a 4.0=A scale. The award amount may vary each year, but will be at least $1,000.
