The Douglas & Elizabeth Borchers Baseball/Softball Scholarship is designed to support a senior from Russia High School who has been a four-year member of their high school baseball or softball team. This scholarship emphasizes qualities such as coachability, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, and requires a recommendation letter from the applicant’s Varsity baseball/softball coach.

• A Russia High School senior. Applicants must have been a four-year member of their high school baseball or softball team. If you have not been enrolled for four years at Russia, but did play high school ball prior to and during your enrollment at Russia, you are eligible.
• Selection based upon (in order of priority): Demonstrated qualities of coachability, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship. A recommendation letter from your Varsity baseball/softball coach is REQUIRED to be attached, and demonstrated community and school service.
• One $1,000 scholarship, renewable for up to three (3) additional years
