The Dr. Thomas I. Chilton Legacy Scholarship in Education was created in 2022 to honor Dr. Thomas I. Chilton, professor of Health Education and administrator in the College of Education and Professional Studies who served the University of South Alabama for almost 50 years. This scholarship is in recognition of Dr. Chilton's sustained excellence as a college administrator and his support of the college's mission and for improving our community

• Students must be full-time undergraduate students with a 3.5 or higher GPA and declared major in the College of Education & Professional Studies.  
• Preference will be given to rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors; the awardee displays responsible leadership related to their field or study and/or promotes positivity in the community who also demonstrates financial need as determined by the University.
