Purpose
To promote careers in the nursing profession by awarding scholarships to students pursuing a degree as a Registered Nurse.
Background
The Genvieve Renn Roscher Nursing Scholarship Endowment was established in 2005 in memory of Genevieve Renn Roscher, by her husband, Frederick A. Roscher, Jr. Genny, as her friends called her, was a registered nurse at John Randolph Hospital for over 40 years. During this period, she worked in nearly every position a nurse can hold at the hospital. She is remembered as a wonderfully giving, kind and gentle nurse who touched the lives of many in the community. As the mother of six children, Genny's dedication to nursing was exceeded only by her devotion to her family.
Policy
The scholarship program is available to residents of the Hopewell, Prince George, Colonial Heights and the Enon District of Chesterfield County. Student interns working for John Randolph Foundation are eligible to apply; however, foundation trustees, other foundation employees and their immediate families (parents, spouses, brothers, sisters, and anyone claimed as a dependent for tax purposes) are not eligible to apply.
