Dr. Victor Gaston created this award to honor his wife, Jean, who was a member of Shaw High School's first graduating class and attended the University of South Alabama. This Scholarship honors Jean's commitment to her family, community, and future educators.

• Students must be full-time with a 3.0 GPA or higher, pursuing an undergraduate degree in the College of Education & Professional Studies that leads to an Alabama teaching certificate.
