Navajo Nations Scholarship

Description

Brown and Caldwell offers a scholarship designed to encourage and support students who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation and have a desire to improve our world by developing their skills and knowledge in preparation for a career in the environmental profession. We are accepting applications for all 2024 scholarships. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2024. Applicants will be notified of their status by the end of May.

Eligibility

Candidates for the Brown and Caldwell Navajo Nation Scholarship Program must be:

  • A United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • A full-time student enrolled at an accredited two-year junior or four-year undergraduate college, or a senior in high school with a letter of acceptance from the college or university to be attended.
  • Have or intend to declare a major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
  • An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.Returning Navajo Nation Scholarship Recipients Criteria
  • Have been awarded the Navajo Nation Scholarship under the Initial Eligibility requirements.
  •  Completed a full year of schooling (2 semesters or 3 quarters) as an award recipient during the year immediately preceding a request for Continuing Eligibility.
  • Have a declared major in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering, or one of the environmental sciences (e.g., geology, hydrogeology, biology, ecology, industrial hygiene toxicology).
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
