Foreign language students who are in their sophomore or junior year and who have completed a minimum of one and a half years of university-level language study are encouraged to apply.

• The ideal candidate will have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 in foreign language courses taken in the USA, an overall G.P.A. of at least 3.0, demonstrated financial need, and be recommended by an instructor or professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literature.
• Preference will be given to Foreign Language majors and minors, as well as students majoring or minoring in academic programs with substantial foreign language components, such as International Studies.
