Description

The Russ Cotney and Lauren Cotney Professional Airline Pilot Career Scholarship, valued at $2,500, honors Maj. Gen. (ret.) William Russell Cotney and his daughter, Lauren Cotney. The scholarship supports women pursuing a professional airline pilot career. It is intended for students enrolled in accredited college or university programs in aviation, engineering, or aeronautical science.

Eligibility

  • Must be a woman pursuing a professional airline pilot career.
  • Must be a junior, senior, or graduate-level student enrolled in an accredited college or university aviation, engineering, or aeronautical science program.
  • Preference given to veterans, current service members, or daughters of veterans or current service members.
  • Must submit academic transcripts with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Must provide two letters of recommendation from faculty members, flight instructors, or pilots.
  • Must submit an essay describing goals, achievements, honors, community involvement, leadership skills, and details on how the scholarship funds will be used.
