Sandy McGill Healthcare Scholarship

Description

The Sandy McGill Healthcare Scholarship was established in October 2015 by the South Baldwin Healthcare Authority to provide financial assistance to full-time graduate or undergraduate students majoring in the College of Nursing.

Eligibility

  • full-time graduate or undergraduate students majoring in the College of Nursing.
  • If a student is pursuing a graduate-level degree, preference shall be given to those who agree to focus on acute care or gerontology and in the fields of Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Leader, or Nursing Informatics/Nursing Administration.
  • The recipient must have been employed as a Registered Nurse in the area served by South Baldwin Regional Medical Center for at least two consecutive years immediately before receiving the scholarship.
  • Following graduation, the student must commit to work in a nursing position in the region served by South Baldwin Regional Medical Center for some time relative to the scholarship funds received. (Two years of employment commitment is required for one year of scholarship funds).
  • The student will be responsible for signing a promissory note with USA to ensure further understanding of the employment commitment and responsibilities.
