Stamps Scholarship

Description

The Stamps Scholarship honors the exceptional accomplishments of secondary school seniors. Applicants should demonstrate exceptional academic ability, have performed notable service to school and community, and possess the qualities of a good citizen and leader.

Early Decision applicants who apply for the Stamps Scholarship will not be notified of their award at the time of admission. Stamps Scholarship selection will be made in early February.

Eligibility

  • Be a student enrolled in and expected to graduate from a secondary school system and enroll at the University of Connecticut beginning fall semester 2025
  • Be involved in leadership activities through secondary school and/or community
  • Have demonstrated a commitment to community service
  • Submission of standardized test scores is optional and is not required for Stamps Scholarship eligibility. First-year applicants may choose whether or not to submit results from standardized tests through the fall 2026 admission cycle. No admission decision shall be impacted, and no student disadvantaged, if a standardized test score is not provided. Applicants choosing to provide a standardized test score should achieve a minimum combined SAT Score of 1420 or an ACT composite score of 32.
  • Applicants should have a minimum grade point average of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale and rank (if available) in the top 10% of their graduating class

Selection process takes into consideration the following:

  • Academic achievement (including rank in class, if available; GPA; and optional standardized test scores)
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Short answer responses
  • Leadership in school and community
  • Interview (determined by the Scholarship Selection Committee)
