The Al Worden “Endeavour” Scholarship

Description

The Al Worden “Endeavour” Scholarship, valued at $7,000, is an all-expenses-paid opportunity that offers STEM-minded students and teachers a 10-day immersive journey to Washington, DC, and Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, in July 2025. This program fosters international collaboration, education, and leadership by selecting eight teams, each consisting of four students and one teacher, from countries including Australia, Bahrain, France, Indonesia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. Students will engage in astronaut-like training at the Advanced Academy, while teachers will participate in the Space Camp for Educators program to learn innovative STEM lessons for their classrooms.

Eligibility

General Requirements:

  • You must be a current member of Women in Aviation International by October 1, 2024, and your membership must not expire before March 2025. You may apply for up to three scholarships.

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

  • Open to STEM-minded students and teachers from the following countries: Australia, Bahrain, France, Indonesia, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.
  • Students must submit a 3-minute video explaining what this opportunity and a future in STEM mean to them and their community.
  • Teachers must articulate in their video how they plan to bring the knowledge gained to their classroom and beyond.
  • Finalists will be interviewed by the scholarship team.
  • Major Courses Required: STEM-related fields.
