This scholarship was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to an outstanding minority nursing student that graduated from any Clarke or Washington County, AL high school. It was established in memory of Barry Coleman's grandmother, Thelma Lee McKenzie. It was created to aid and encourage other College of Nursing students from Clarke or Washington County, AL, to pursue their dreams and help others through their abilities as a nurse.
