This scholarship was established in 1968 by the Blackburn family in memory of Willis C. Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn was a prominent geologist and a 21-year resident of Mobile, AL. The recipients of this award will be an incoming freshman that has earned a 23 or higher on the ACT (or SAT equivalent) and a 3.0 or higher high school GPA.
