Are you between the ages of 11 and 25 and have a passion for ending plastic pollution? If so, the Wayfinder Society Student Mini-Grant may be a good opportunity for you! Each year, the grant awards between $300 and $2,000 to multiple individuals who are pursuing either education or community projects to “help us move toward a world where plastic pollution is unthinkable.” The grant money may be used for: individuals’ first semester of college, a community project/internship/conference related to ending plastic pollution, online courses, or even for starting a YouTube channel where you discuss how incinerators/plastic waste impact your local area. If you are dedicated to a future where plastic pollution is no more, we encourage you to apply! Keep on reading to learn more.
About Algalita Marine Research and Education
Algalita is internationally known as the organization that started the movement to end plastic pollution nearly 30 years ago. They were one of the first to discover, and bring attention to, the swirling soup of plastic pollution in the Pacific – now known by many as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. They now specialize in supporting educators through resources, events, and funding opportunities via their program, the Wayfinder Society for Environmental Education.
Our Student Mini-Grants are open to applicants anywhere in the world! We do not discriminate against its applicants based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
