Westinghouse Endowed First Generation Scholarship

Description

This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students who are the first in their families to attend college, helping them overcome financial challenges and succeed in their academic pursuits. Recipients must meet the State of Florida's definition of a first-generation student, meaning neither parent has earned a college degree at the baccalaureate level or higher. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate financial need through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and must not have previously received a baccalaureate degree.

Eligibility

  • Recipient(s) must be enrolled at the University of Central Florida as a full-time undergraduate student.
  • Recipient(s) must meet the State of Florida definition of being a First-Generation student. As defined by the Florida Department of Education, Office of Student Financial Assistance, “a student is considered ‘first generation’ if neither of the student’s parents earned a college degree at the baccalaureate level or higher”.
  • Recipient(s) can not have previously received a baccalaureate degree.
  • Recipient(s) must have met the eligibility requirements for demonstrated financial need by submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
