The William E. Wiggs Award for Excellence in Paleontology was established to provide financial assistance to the student that has demonstrated the highest academic performance in GY 401 (Paleontology).

• Recipient is selected by department faculty based on academic merit and is not required to complete an application.
• This award, first presented in the spring of 2001, was initiated by the USA Geology Department in honor of William E. Wiggs.
