The Wings for Val Foundation Lieutenant Valerie Cappelaere Delaney Memorial Scholarship is a $10,000 award created to honor the legacy of Lt. Valerie "Val" Delaney by supporting women in aviation. This scholarship is intended to inspire the next generation of female leaders and is open to a female WAI member pursuing a private fixed-wing pilot certificate or any subsequent flight ratings.

• Open to female WAI members from any country.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• FAA Class 1-3 medicals are preferred, but Basic Medical will be considered.
• Applicants are encouraged to research Lt. Delaney and draw similarities to her in their essay.
