The Philanthropic Initiative
Yawkey Scholars Program - South Carolina

Description

Currently only accepting applications for rising first-year college students who are entering college in South Carolina in 2023–24.

The Yawkey Scholars Program has provided nearly $15 million in college tuition support to more than 375 scholars since its inception in 2005. In 2023, the Massachusetts Yawkey Scholars Program will pause the intake of new applications for rising first-year college students (entering college in 2023-24) to allow for a strategic review of the program and thoughtful consideration of future plans for the most meaningful, impactful manner of investing the Foundation’s resources to perpetuate the Yawkeys’ deep commitment to education.

The Yawkey Foundation will continue to provide the robust resources – mentoring, guidance, and nearly $1 million in tuition scholarship funding – to make college affordable for the talented and motivated currently-designated Massachusetts Yawkey Scholars who will be entering their sophomore (second year), junior (third year), and senior (fourth year) in the fall of 2023.

The Yawkey Scholars Program for students from Georgetown County, South Carolina will continue to accept applications from eligible applicants beginning in December 2022 for rising first-year college students who are entering college in South Carolina in 2023-24. This scholarship seeks to support students who have a significant gap (of at least $10,000 or more) in what it costs to attend college and the financial aid and scholarships the student receives.
